Church of the Savior Nursery School– Church of the Savior established a nursery school as a mission to the community. All children are welcome to join our Church of the Savior Nursery School family. We teach children to “Make Love Grow”. Preschool children are offered an intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual foundation at Church of the Savior Nursery School. Happy New Year!
Welcome back to school! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. It may be a little difficult for children to leave all of their new toys and return to school. Separation anxieties may resurface as it can take a while to get back into the school routine.
Thank you so much for the many crafts, snacks and goodies for the children, and the gifts you generously gave to the children and the staff. We are all very blessed to serve you in this school and ministry. Thank you for making such beautiful angels, shepherds and kings. Your creativity provided an awesome backdrop for the Christmas programs. We hope you enjoyed the Children’s rendition of “the greatest story ever told.”
ANOTHER SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR “CHRISTMAS ANGEL” WHO DONATED CHILDREN’S BIBLES FOR ALL OF OUR STUDENTS. THEY WERE GIVEN OUT BY SANTA AND APPRECIATED BY ALL.
Our special theme for this month is “California”. We use the theme weeks to acquaint the children with a state that they may possibly visit. Children will be learning about the Golden Gate Bridge, San Diego Zoo, Hollywood, Disneyland, the Santa Monica Pier and the Pacific Ocean to name a few. Each area is unique and the children will learn a little about the environment, animals, people and plant life. We welcome volunteers to help us decorate the multi-purpose room on Friday, Jan. 18th (from 9:00 – 2:00) when school will be closed. Please let your teacher know if you are able to help. Please leave the children at home while we are decorating for the sake of safety and the element of surprise. Each class will be “visiting” California on their designated day. Please see the attached calendar.
Mrs. Hayman, the head class moms, and the class moms of each class will be meeting to discuss the California theme dinners which will be held the first few days of February. CLASS MOMS: Please mark your calendars for JANUARY 8th AT 9 A.M. for a meeting and let Mrs. Bauta know if you can attend. The class moms will plan a dinner and will put sign-up sheets on the bulletin boards for attendance, set-up, clean up, and food to be supplied. Dinners begin at 6:00 and are usually over by 7:30 after a brief songfest. For the past few years, classes have been choosing to cater the dinners and each family contributes a determined amount. The decision is up to the class moms.
As an important reminder: In the event of bad weather, Mrs. Hayman will advise teachers of a school closure who will in turn notify class parents. Class parents will then call or text parents to notify them that the school is closed. A secondary notification will also be sent through mass email. If there is a delayed opening, our school will close for the morning sessions and reopen at 12:45pm for the afternoon sessions.
If Paramus district schools are closed due to snow or ice, our school closes automatically. If our school parking lot is too snowy or icy and proposes a risk for falls, our school may close even if Paramus remains open. If unsure, parents may call the school beginning at 8:00am. If the answering machine picks up and/or no one answers, it means that no staff are present and school is closed. Staff are usually in the building by 7:30am.
We will be having two Fun Friday events this month! January 11th will be “Cooking With Miss Ginni” ($25) and January 25th will be “Yoga with Mrs. Bossbaly” ($20).
